Thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful ideas and work. From the looks of the "pin" in the ginger bread work - it appears to be a push pin? I want to pass along a wonderful "pin" idea that has worked very well for the children in my school. I purchased some corn on the cob holders - you know the little corn things with 2 prongs on the end...my husband heated them with a torch for a moment, pulled one prong out, and I have these wonderful "pins" for the children to use... a longer handle and a longer pin for the children to do this kind of work. Hope this has been helpful.
Thanks again for all your ideas and info.

I am a relatively new reader of your blog and I just wanted to say thank you for the information you provide here. You give such detail and include such great pictures. I am getting so many ideas from you as I begin the Montessori method with my 4 year old. Thanks so much for all you are doing with this blog!

Hi, I have been looking over your blog for a few weeks and I love it. My son goes to a home daycare, but I would like to start doing some Montessori work at home with him. We had considered it for preschool, but were worried about the self disapline aspect especially since he was 22mo at the time and can tend to get a little hyper. For this activity what do you use for the mat, and do they just punch holes in the construction paper and tear it off? I did our first activity, pipe cleaners in foam and he seemed to be interested so I will continue. He is an extremely tactile child adn just turned 3.
