I know this post is after the fact; I really wanted to post it last week, but as you probably know by now, I didn't have internet access for a week. I still wanted to share with you a fun activity that I put out last week. It could certainly be modified for birthday card work, spring cards, etc.
To give a little background, we always have birthday card work out on the day we celebrate someone's birthday at school. The children love making and giving cards to the birthday child. We had Christmas card work out in December as well. I decided to set up the Valentine's card work with a few extra "gadgets" that we don't usually put out for our other card work. That's why I ended up setting it up on my free-standing shelf as shown below instead of on the little floor table I usually use. The photo below shows the whole set-up. Up to three students were allowed to work here at a time, each working at a different "station". The stations are shown and described below.
This photo shows the basket with blank cards (construction paper cut in half and then folded in half), a placemat, ink pad, and foam stamp. The children used the foam stamp (4-sided and purchased from Hobby Lobby) to stamp valentine images on their cards.
The next area was set up with a heart punch and pieces of construction paper in valentine colors. Each child was allowed to use one piece of paper and they could punch out as many little hearts as they wanted to. They could then glue the hearts onto their card using the glue stick. The extra white basket was our "garbage" basket; that is where they placed the pieces of paper that had been punched from.
The last part of the work area had a bucket of pieces of paper doilies that could be glued to the cards. It also had a basket with 4 markers. The children could use the markers to sign their names, write a message, or draw a picture on their card.
Just above the last work area, I posted a paper with various words and messages on it so the children could use it to spell some of the words they might want to use on their cards. There were many proud and happy children this past week who completed special handmade cards to take home to their families.

hello guys, I really like this post, the events in general are things that draw little attention, thanks for sharing the information, and answer many questions I would like updates to this article, thanks
