As I mentioned yesterday, I have completed the "green" series of words and pictures for my word drawers. I am making them available for you to download to use with your own children or the children in your classroom. Each page has 6 words and corresponding pictures that have been grouped by phonogram. For example, one page for all words with /oo/, one page for /ee/ words, and so on. I am planning on putting mine in the word drawers that were already in my classroom. See the photos below.
NOTE: This photo shows a close-up of one of the drawers with the OLD cards in it. The new cards that I have just redone and made available for downloading include colored pictures.
When finished, I will have 2 word drawer "boxes", each with 21 drawers. Those 42 drawers will contain all the red/yellow/blue CVC words, then the blue series words (consonant blends with short vowels), and finally the green series words (words with vowel pairs and consonant digraphs). I have created a document that will allow children to record their work (if they wish). There is a place at the top where they will circle the number of the drawer they are working on. Then below that is a table with space for them to write each word and draw the corresponding picture. If they don't have the fine motor skills to write the words, they should be able to use letter stamps to stamp the words. You can view and download this document by clicking here: Download word_drawer_record_sheet.doc
And here are all the files for the word drawers. There are three labelled "mixed" that contain words with a variety of phonograms. NOTE: If you download all my language materials, you will have more than enough to fill 42 drawers with 5 cards each. Of course, given your individual situations, you may choose to use the cards differently anyway.

The one thing I would appreciate very much is getting feedback on the free downloads I am providing. I would love to know if you are finding them useful at all. I will continue creating things for my own classroom use regardless; however, if I receive feedback that people are enjoying the free downloads, I will continue to provide them.
Thank you very much for all of your hard work! They will come in very useful! Someone with Montessori back ground that know how much effort you put in your work and beautiful and fresh new look at the class. thank you very much.

I want to thank you very much for providing these. My daughters are in half-day kindergarten this year, after 2 years of Montessori preschool. I was thinking about ways in which I can continue to provide some Montessori activities at home and you have given me such help in this regard. Most appreciated!!!

You are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for the downloads.
I woke early this morning and was wanting to find information on phonemes. (I have had Montessori training, but it was more like a quick overview. There are so many holes in what I know. It was with a public Montessori school because I couldn't afford to live on the salary of a private Montessori teacher.)
Anyway, I have used some things I remembered from my brief training. One of those was "Phoneme Boxes," as we called them. Do you know what I am talking about? I had a severe dyslexic student who really benefited from using those. I made copies of it, but I don't know how to put it together.
They are series of paired vowels or paired blends that go from matching to sentences.
Thank you for any help! And thank you so very much for the great downloads!

Thank you SO much for sharing these. I really needed these! And thank you for putting them in word format so that I could change the colour of the words (red for the phonogram and black for the rest) in line with my training.

I just want to thank you for wanting to give of your time to share all of what you have done. Because novices like me don't have a clue to what I am doing. I am starting out in learning about Montessori teaching and method. And am probably going to start with North American Montessori Center. They have a program where you can get their lessons to teach your children and at the same time earn accredited courses to receive their certification. Have you heard of this? Mean time I am always checking out on your site what to teach our kids between 2 - 5 yrs old. Thank You! Mary J

I found your blog site through Google when I was looking for more comprehensive Montessori pink/blue/green card material. I'm so grateful to you for putting them up because they can be hard work to work them from scratch.
