The boys and I recently made Halloween wreaths for our home using this tutorial from Ramblings of a Crazy Woman. This tutorial was also featured on The Crafty Crow. These are both really great blogs which I STRONGLY suggest you check out if you want great ideas for projects to do with children.
My littlest boy, who is three, was very very intrigued when I told him we were going to paint his feet. He was very excited to try this activity.
Here is his sweet little foot covered with white paint.
We did white footprints on black paper for the ghost bodies.
And we did orange paint on the palms for the pumpkins.
Then I cut out the middle of a paper plate for the wreath background.
Then, after we added details to the ghosts and pumpkins, we glued them to the plates. Here are the finished wreaths. They turned out so cute!
That's a great idea, Julie! I'm so glad you're still reading the blog. I hope Alissa is having a great year! I miss her (and you!)
Take care,
Laura

Last fall we made the ghosts, instead of doing the wreath which is so cute we printed one " ghost" of each foot on black paper- I used 12 x 12 and put it in a black scrapbook frame. We put name and year in the corner. If you put lotion on the foot or hand first it seems to wash off easier. We are missing your great class! But still enjoy keeping up with the blog.

This is adorable. We made a family of ghosts, using acrylic paint - it was quite easy to clean up.

So cute! I love the little white ghosts. What kind of paint is a good kind of paint to use? Just acrylic paint? Will that wash off pretty easily as long as you do it right away? Thanks for the great idea. I'm not sure how I missed this one on the Crafty Crow.
