I made an Easter counting game for the math shelves using some really cool Easter egg stickers I found at Target. I stuck them to purple cardstock and laminated them. I really wanted to use chicks for the counters, but didn't have enough and couldn't find more. So.........I ended up using some little bunny erasers I had. This is a game for two children. We've had a variation of this out on the math shelves all year and the children love it.
To play, the children take turns rolling the die and placing that many counters (bunnies) on their eggs. The game ends when one child covers their card. I modify a dice for this game so the sides only have the numerals 1, 2 or 3. That way the game lasts longer than it would with a traditional 1-6 die AND my youngest students can have more success because their number concepts and numeral recognition are stronger with lower numbers.
what a cute spring idea!
