This activity is new on the Practical Life shelves this month. It is a combination of color sorting and counting. First, the child sorts the colored sticks (found in the dollar section of our local discount store) into the jars. Then they count how many of each color and place the corresponding numeral card next to the jar.
I am using a glass butter dish to hold the sticks and it works perfectly! Always think about how you can use something in a unique way.........you'll be surprised with what you come up with.
This one is a great idea too! All of your ideas are great! I kind of do the same thing, but I use teddy bears and only go up to numbers 1-4. My daughter is only 21 months, so I don't want to jump the gun!

Nice idea...and visually appealing as well. Do you find that the activities that are visually appealing get more attention from the kids? That seems to be in the case in our home.
