Since my students really enjoyed the snowflake punching activity I put out in January, I wanted to put another punching activity out for February but with a twist. So.......I decided to put together a bracelet-making activity. The photo below shows how I set the materials up on the tray. From top: a basket of red and pink pipe-cleaners, a box with a heart punch, a pin-punching tool (a push pin would be a fine substitution), and a teeny tiny punching pad (this one is actually a piece of carpet pad.........you know, the kind that goes under your carpet when it's installed) and a basket with strips of glittered cardstock.
To do this work the child chooses a piece of cardstock and uses the heart punch to punch out some tiny heart shapes. Then they use the puncher and pad to poke a hole in the center of each heart. Finally, they string the hearts onto a pipe cleaner, have a teacher help twist the ends, and DONE!
Here is a photo of one of the finished bracelets. I often wish I was a better photographer......but you get the idea. This has been a VERY popular work so far.
I can't help to leave a message i really like your blog so much. I am looking forward to your next post for more bracelet.

I LOVE this. What a great way to get a Valentine's activity out on the shelves, while avoiding a cookie-cutter, "everyone does it" group activity. My kids would love this.
