Here are a few pumpkin songs we've been singing recently. THIS POST describes the "Five Little Pumpkins" song and props we are using as well as the song, "Oh, Once I had a Pumpkin" that we are singing. However, the felt pumpkin face shown was (sadly) destroyed by a mouse last fall so I am not using it with the song anymore. I need to make a new pumpkin!
In addition to those two songs, we are doing "Jack O' Happy" which they LOVE. We put our arms around our heads with our hands together above our head like a stem. Then we say,
"This is Jack O' Happy (Make a happy face)
This is Jack O' Sad (Make a sad face)
This is Jack O' Spooky (Make a spooky face)
This is Jack O' Mad (Make a mad face)
This is Jack in pieces small (Put hands out to sides, palms up)
But in a pie he's best of all!" (Rub tummy)
Thanks for sharing !!! I will try this with my son..

Love your site! You have really insprired me with all your wonderful classroom activities. About your poem posting where do you have the chart hanging and do you go over the poem everyday at that week when you introduce the poem or just once a week? Thank you for inspiring me!
